HappyMyTrip joins a major Odisha tourism gathering
HappyMyTrip Holidays is proud to be part of the 7th Odisha Travel Bazaar (OTB) 2026 in Bhubaneswar, held from 3 to 5 October 2026. Our founder, Kavita Thakur, represented HappyMyTrip at the event, meeting tourism professionals, destination partners and industry representatives who are shaping the next chapter of travel in Odisha.
For our team, this is more than a participation milestone. It is an opportunity to understand the destination at an industry level, build meaningful relationships and explore how we can create stronger, more thoughtfully planned Odisha journeys for our travellers.
A B2B platform built around connections and opportunity
The Odisha Travel Bazaar is organised by the Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha, in partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The 2026 edition brought together domestic and international tourism stakeholders for structured business interactions, destination promotion, investment conversations and partnership opportunities.
The event included participation from domestic and foreign tour operators and tourism businesses, with thousands of structured B2B and B2G interactions planned across the three-day gathering. This scale makes OTB an important meeting point for understanding how Odisha is being positioned for a larger domestic and international travel audience.
Why we see enormous potential in Destination Odisha
Odisha has the ingredients of a destination that can appeal to many different travellers: living heritage, spirituality, coastline, wildlife, forests, tribal traditions, handlooms, handicrafts, cuisine and deeply rooted local culture. Places such as Bhubaneswar, Puri and Konark are already familiar to many travellers, while experiences across the wider state offer considerable room for discovery.
At HappyMyTrip, we see an opportunity to move beyond a simple checklist of sightseeing. The future of Odisha travel can be built around richer itineraries, local experiences, responsible exploration and journeys designed around what the traveller actually wants to feel and experience.
Kavita Thakur at the heart of the conversations
As founder of HappyMyTrip, Kavita Thakur used the event as an opportunity to connect directly with tourism stakeholders and understand the people and businesses behind the destination. The conversations, meetings and shared experiences at OTB are valuable because good travel products are ultimately built through dependable relationships.
From destination management companies and heritage properties to local experience providers, tourism representatives and established travel brands, the event created a setting where ideas could move from introductions to potential collaborations. We are taking these conversations back to our team as we work on future Odisha travel experiences.
An event that reflects Odisha’s larger tourism ambition
The 2026 edition also highlighted the State’s wider ambition to strengthen tourism, attract investment and create more opportunities across the tourism ecosystem. Government announcements at the event included measures intended to encourage tourism infrastructure and investment, alongside a continued focus on developing Odisha as a globally competitive destination.
For the travel industry, this direction matters. Strong destinations need more than beautiful places. They need connected stakeholders, good infrastructure, skilled people, reliable local partners and compelling stories that reach travellers. OTB brings many of these conversations into one room.
Our gratitude to the Government of Odisha and the organising committee
Team HappyMyTrip extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of Odisha, the Department of Tourism, FICCI and the entire Odisha Travel Bazaar organising committee for creating such a valuable platform for the travel community. We are thankful for the hospitality, coordination and opportunity to participate in the conversations around Destination Odisha.
We return from Bhubaneswar with new connections, new perspectives and an even stronger belief in Odisha’s potential. We look forward to turning the knowledge and relationships developed at OTB 2026 into better travel ideas for our customers and stronger partnerships within the tourism ecosystem.
What comes next for HappyMyTrip
Our participation at Odisha Travel Bazaar is part of a larger journey for HappyMyTrip: building destination knowledge, strengthening industry relationships and creating travel experiences that feel personal rather than generic. Odisha is a destination we are now looking at with even greater interest and a much deeper industry perspective.
As we evaluate partnerships and develop future itineraries, our aim will remain simple: help more travellers discover Odisha with confidence, curiosity and the freedom to experience the state at their own pace. We believe the opportunity is significant, and we are excited to be part of the journey ahead.
